Returning to a state of normalcy.

Though Hamlet opens in less than a week, we have started putting ourselves back together after Henry V. The boys, though they loved their sleepovers at nana and papa's house, are happy to spend so much quality time with us again. Jeff and I are enjoying ever second of it. It now feels as though summer has really begun.

Jeff and I kicked off summer vacation with a brief camping trip to Ocracoke, NC where we met up with new, but already dear, friends Phil an Emily. It was exactly what we needed to decompress after such an exhausting June.

Jeff and I have been mostly switching off since Hamlet rehearsals have started. Jeff takes them to the park most mornings while I am at work and at night while he is in rehearsal we cuddle on the couch and watch a movie. It's been really nice to actually cook meals again as during the run of the show we lived mostly of mac and cheese and cold cuts. Though lamenting the return of vegetables to our diet, Max and Hudson seem to be enjoying our dinners together too.
Max suggested dinner outside last night which I thought was a wonderful idea...

Playing in the backyard...

The boys share ice cream while we watch The Land Before Time. An oldie, but a goodie.
Quiet time with Hudson.
He walks around with his hands behind his back, which Jeff and I think is adorable.

  1. Max and Hudson are too cute. I love Hudson's eyes. A girl could get lost in those things. How are the mornings in the park Jeff?
